Design/Build relocation of an existing nut roaster and roasting operation within the existing operational plant. Temporary enclosures around the construction zone were installed and maintained throughout the construction period. Low headroom in the warehouse created rigging and installation challenges as well as limited floor construction depth to allow for proper finished height clearances.
New roasting room constructed as two-floored room in the existing raw materials warehouse while production continued on multiple dry food processing lines.
The room featured hollow core pre-cast concrete planks for reduced construction time, free spans, and capacity to support supersack unloaders, material handling systems over the relocated roaster.
New HVAC system meeting air filtration specifications from various product brand specifications. Also housed on the upper floor was a tub wash down C.O.P. room complete with the stainless steel drain system and specialty product coated walls for clean ability, mold resistance, and durability.
The ground floor was demolished and reconstructed to provide positive drainage and maintain containment and material handling access to the existing warehouse and production floor slabs.
Quality and production stations were housed within the roasting room. The existing roaster was decommissioned, relocated through the production room to the new roaster room and re-wired to modern day standards. Exterior to the room a material handling elevator was installed for access to the upper floor.
New foundations were installed through the existing floor slab and multiple doorways were cut into the existing load bearing CMU wall for improved access.
